Heath, Texas — Conceived as a Texas modern homestead, the 7,000-square-foot Crisp Homestead, currently in design with completion slated for 2025, is organized around a single architectural gesture: a stone wall that runs as a continuous thread from the landscape into the heart of the home. The wall is foundational in both senses, anchoring the structure while carrying the narrative of the family it shelters. As it moves through the plan, it pushes and pulls volumes around it, framing private retreats and public gathering spaces, opening pockets for activity and reprieve, and stitching the exterior grounds to the interior rooms beyond.

Material restraint allows the stone to lead. Surrounding palettes of warm wood, plaster, and glass defer to the wall’s mass and texture, letting it register as the project’s organizing spine. The result is a home where architecture and family identity are inseparable, with the stone thread standing as a quiet symbol of resilience, steadiness, and continuity. Crisp Homestead reads as both a contemporary Texas residence and a deeply personal portrait of the family at its center.
